Painted bandwagon 'Frank' will tour UK

27th MAR 2014

They say that you can do just about anything with a Ford Transit...

Up and coming UK band CoCo and the Butterfields certainly took this onboard when they were decorating their trusty bandwagon ‘Frank’ ahead of their UK tour in April of this year. They went for a very bold patchwork theme, inspired by the clothes making antics of violinist and lead vocalist Dulcima Showan, which has since begun to visually encapsulate what this rag-tag bunch of buskers from Canterbury are really about.

This is not the band’s first means of transport, having upgraded from the old Dihatsu Hijet or ‘Ron’ as he was affectonately known, due to... spacial reasons. The new guy certainly proved to be more comfortable, and even has enough legroom for banjo player “Handsome” Rob, who stands at a quite lofty 6’4”. However, something was missing, in the form of a colorful jacket which Frank could wear with pride around all the other vans he sees on the road. So the band took it upon themselves to adorn him in many fine colours and patterns, worthy of the incredibly intense summer of festivals and tour schedules ahead, and with the help of a makeshift spray booth and a few tubs of nitrocellulose lacquer, Frank’s new look began to take shape.

It’s a good thing that Frank is now ready to face the summer- as it’s going to be a busy one! The five-piece folk/hip-hop pioneers start their 2014 schedule with a UK tour in April-May followed by a packed out festival marathon starting with the Isle of Wight Festival and moving on to such others as Glastonbury, Secret Garden Party, Boomtown Fair, Wilderness, Camp Bestival and Cambridge Folk Festival to name but a few. All details of CoCo and the Butterfields’ summertime schedule appear on their official website, so keep your eyes peeled, these guys and their colourful Bandwagon will very soon be coming to play a show near you!

And in case you were wondering what's next after Frank...
