Performing on BBC3 'Don't Tell the Bride'

2nd SEP 2014

Folk Hip-Hop Fusioneers CoCo and the Butterfields are to appear on BBC 3’s ‘Don’t Tell the Bride’ this week for a very special performance, filmed at London’s Alexandra Palace in May of this year.

This performance included a live wedding ceremony held on center stage at the Great British Tattoo Show, for which the band were commissioned to write a song which told the tale of the relationship between the bride and groom to be. The song took the form of a rap propelled by a powerful beatbox line, layered with violin melodies reminiscent of perhaps more traditional wedding pieces...

...Although not a traditionally conventional ceremony, with the bride and groom exchanging their vows as part of the song, it seemed to go down a storm with both guests and indeed everyone else watching in the audience that had massed around the stage!

The happy couple, Adam and Danielle Butler from Torquay, Devon have been long-time fans of CoCo and the Butterfields and can often be seen in the audience at shows all across the country. And as well as fans, they have also become good friends of the band- which is nice too!

Although this has been one of CoCo and the Butterfields’ most unusual performances so far, they described it as both ‘engaging and enjoyable’. The band would also Like to wish Mr and Mrs Butler many many happy years together. The show is due to air on BBC 3 on the 2nd September 2014.
